Peak Dale Products is an account-based wholesaler. When you apply for a trade account, we use the information supplied in your application to assess whether your business is suitable for an account.
As part of this process, we may check publicly available information about your business, including your online presence and information available through Companies House.
Trade account applications are reviewed manually. We do not use solely automated decision-making to determine whether an application is accepted.
6. Credit Accounts
Some established customers may be offered the opportunity to apply for credit facilities.
When assessing a credit application, we may review information held by Companies House and obtain business credit information from Creditsafe.
This information is used to help us assess creditworthiness, establish suitable credit terms and manage our financial risk.
Credit decisions are made manually by Peak Dale Products. We do not rely solely on an automated system to decide whether credit is granted.
7. Payments
Online card payments are processed by Stripe. Peak Dale Products does not receive or store your full payment card details.
Customers may be given the option to save their payment details for future purchases. Where this option is used, the payment credentials are handled by the payment provider rather than being stored as full card details by Peak Dale Products.
Customers may also pay using PayPal or, where approved, through a Peak Dale credit account.
We may retain information relating to a transaction, such as its value, payment method, payment status and transaction reference, as part of our order and accounting records.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. We also use Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel in connection with website measurement and advertising.
These technologies may process information such as your IP address, device and browser information, website activity and online identifiers.
Further information about the cookies and similar technologies used on our website is provided in our separate Cookie Policy.
12. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
Peak Dale Products may occasionally use artificial intelligence tools, including ChatGPT, to assist with internal business tasks.
This may include analysing order information or assisting us with the wording, completeness, spelling and grammar of responses to customer enquiries, emails or complaints.
We do not use artificial intelligence to provide an automated customer service system or to make automated decisions about customers.
Where an AI tool is used to assist with customer correspondence, we aim to minimise the personal information provided. This may include a customer's first name and the relevant content of their correspondence, but we do not intentionally provide unnecessary identifying information such as postal addresses or contact details.
13. International Processing
Some of the technology and service providers we use are international organisations or may process information using systems located outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate protections are in place in accordance with applicable UK data protection law. These may include transfers to countries recognised as providing an adequate level of protection or the use of approved contractual safeguards.
14. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing our services, maintaining appropriate business records and complying with legal, accounting and tax requirements.
Different information may therefore be retained for different periods.
- Order, invoice and transaction records may be retained for the period required to meet accounting, tax and legal obligations.
- Active customer account information may be retained while the account remains in use.
- Information relating to inactive accounts may be retained where there is a legitimate business, accounting or legal reason to do so.
- Unsuccessful trade account applications will not be retained for longer than reasonably necessary for account administration and business protection purposes.
- Marketing information may be retained while you remain subscribed. We may retain limited suppression information after you unsubscribe so that we can respect your request not to receive further marketing.
- Information may remain temporarily within secure backups until those backups are replaced or deleted through our normal backup cycle.
We periodically review the information we hold and should delete or anonymise personal information when there is no longer a reasonable business or legal need to retain it.
15. Historical Records
Some historical customer and transaction information may remain within legacy business systems previously used by Peak Dale Products, including MYOB or AccountEdge.
These systems are no longer used for current order processing. Historical information retained within them is subject to the same data protection and retention principles described in this policy.
16. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
Measures include:
- password-protected business systems and user accounts;
- access limited to authorised Peak Dale Products personnel;
- secure website connections and encryption where appropriate;
- use of established service providers for payments and business systems;
- regular data backups; and
- reasonable security measures for customer information exported to business computers or files.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the information we process.
17. Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis on which we process your information, UK data protection law may give you rights including:
- Right of access: you can ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Right to erasure: in certain circumstances, you can ask us to delete your personal information.
- Right to restriction: in certain circumstances, you can ask us to restrict how we use your information.
- Right to object: in certain circumstances, you can object to our processing of your information.
- Right to data portability: in certain circumstances, you can ask us to provide information you supplied to us in a portable format.
